In most cases, your toothpaste doesn’t need to be medicinal or expensive. It’s enough that it contains the appropriate amount of fluoride (1450 ppmF-), which will be listed among the ingredients on the packaging. This amount protects against cavities and is suitable for individuals aged 6 and above. In special cases of high caries risk, toothpaste with a higher fluoride concentration (5,000 ppmF-) may be prescribed.
Try to avoid long-term use of whitening toothpaste, as it contains coarse abrasive particles that can damage your enamel.
Remember: spit out the toothpaste thoroughly, but don’t rinse your mouth, because the longer the toothpaste stays on your teeth, the more beneficial it is.
